Preschool Schedule

A Typical Day at Grammy's Playhouse:  (Morning: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM / Afternoon: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

 

8:00 AM / 1:00 PM – Welcome & Free Play

• Greet children and allow time for them to settle in and explore centers such as sensory bins, blocks, and pretend play.

• Encourage social interactions and individual expression during this open playtime.

 

8:30 AM / 1:30 PM – Circle Time

• Welcome song and daily theme discussion.

• Introduce the day’s focus activity and monthly trait (e.g., gratitude, problem-solving).

• Calendar, weather, and a short interactive story or song.

 

9:00 AM / 2:00 PM – Sensory & Hands-On Learning Stations

• Rotate through activities like sensory bins, art projects, fine motor play, and science experiments.

• Examples include exploring textures in sensory tables, building with natural materials, or color matching games.

 

9:30 AM / 2:30 PM – Snack Time

• Children prepare their own snacks to build independence (e.g., spreading, pouring).

• Sit together to enjoy snacks and practice table manners.

 

10:00 AM / 3:00 PM – Outdoor Play

• Active play in the backyard: climbing, running, water play, or mud kitchen activities.

• Group games or free exploration to build physical and social skills.

 

10:30 AM / 3:30 PM – Focused Learning Activity

• Thematic activity based on the week’s curriculum (e.g., exploring the letter of the week, creating seasonal crafts, or solving simple puzzles).

• Integrate character traits like cooperation and patience into the activity.

 

11:00 AM / 4:00 PM – Music, Movement & Storytime

• Sing songs, play instruments, or dance to music.

• Read an engaging book or explore storytelling through puppets or props.

 

11:30 AM / 4:30 PM – Creative Centers & Reflection

• Children choose from art, building, or sensory play to express creativity.

• Reflect on the day’s activities and reinforce the monthly character trait through a group discussion or gratitude circle.

 

12:00 PM / 5:00 PM – Goodbye & Pickup

• End the session with a goodbye song and positive send-off as children share something they enjoyed from the day.

 

Flexible Program Options:
