What is the age range for children attending your preschool?

Our preschool caters to children between the ages of 1 and 5 years old.

 

Do you provide full-time care?

Unfortunately, we do not offer full-day programs. Our focus is on part-time preschool programs designed for families who may have one parent working from home or a parent who stays home and only needs a few hours of care. Should this change in the future, we will send out an announcement—be sure to sign up for our newsletter!

 

What are your operating hours?

We offer both morning and afternoon sessions Monday-Thursday:

• Morning class: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

• Afternoon class: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

 

What curriculum do you follow?

At Grammy’s Playhouse Preschool, we combine play-based learning, Montessori principles, and early childhood education best practices to create a balanced, engaging environment. We focus on fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning in every child.

What qualifications do you have?

As the founder and teacher at Grammy’s Playhouse, I hold Early Childhood Education credentials and have spent over 12 years running successful preschool programs. I bring both professional expertise and a deep passion for fostering young children’s development.

 

How do you ensure the safety and security of the children?

Your child’s safety is our top priority. We conduct thorough background checks for all staff, practice regular safety drills, and follow strict health and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.

 

What is the enrollment process like?

We’d love to welcome you for a personal tour of our cozy home preschool! This is a chance to get to know each other, discuss your child’s unique needs, and explore how Grammy’s Playhouse Preschool can support their growth and development.

 

How do you handle food allergies?

We take food allergies very seriously. All parents are required to inform us of any allergies during enrollment. We work with families to ensure snacks are safe for all children and maintain a strict no-sharing policy for food. Staff is trained to recognize and respond to allergic reactions swiftly.

 

How do you handle challenging behavior?

We use positive reinforcement, gentle guidance, and redirection to address challenging behaviors. Our approach focuses on teaching life skills like communication, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation. We also partner with families to ensure a consistent approach between home and school.

 

Do you accept children who are not potty trained? Do you charge extra for potty training?

Yes, we accept children who are not yet potty trained. We work closely with families to support potty training efforts in a positive and encouraging way. We do not charge extra for potty training.

 

Are immunizations mandatory?

State regulations require up-to-date immunizations for children attending preschool.  We follow all state guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all children.
